Lois B. Simmons, M.Ed., MT(ASCP), SH(ASCP) works for the Community College of Baltimore County as the Director, Office of Selective Admissions, School of Health Professions.

Lois earned her M.Ed. in Secondary Education from Towson University, and a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from West Virginia Wesleyan College. She has Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology as a Medical Technologist (MT) and Specialist in Hematology (SH) and completed the Coalition for Allied Health Leadership (CAHL), class of 2003.

Lois has more than 25 years of experience as a medical technologist in Baltimore area hospitals, overlapped by 10 years as the director of the Medical Laboratory Technician program at CCBC.   She is currently beginning her eighth year as director of the admissions office for the School of Health Professions (SHP) at CCBC.  Her office manages admissions to 14 credit programs in the SHP and serves as the outreach and recruitment contact for the SHP.  In addition, she has taught microbiology in the surgical technology program at CCBC, lab interpretation to the physician assistant students, and several modules of an introduction to health careers course taught by the SHP at two local high schools.
