Announcing the Title VII and Title VIII Video Profiles Page!
HPNEC would like to announce the debut of the Title VII and Title VIII Video Profiles YouTube page! The Video Profiles site contains a collection of 1 to 2 minute videos from institutions across the country highlighting Title VII and Title VIII programs in action . It was formally launched during HPNEC's Capitol Hill briefing March 23, and will be featured on the HPNEC website, as well as at future Title VII and Title VIII-related events.

We are still collecting Video Profiles from Title VII and Title VIII programs. HPNEC meeting summary-March 22, 2011 The meeting was held at the AAMC building in Washington, DC with guest speaker Dr. Jan Heinrich, Associate Administrator of HRSA BHPR.
Dr. Heinrich shared information about the 2012 budget request and the reorganization and refocusing of Bureau of Health Professions (BHPr) under HRSA.
HRSA "provides national leadership, program resources and services needed to improve access to culturally competent, quality health care. HRSA also is involved with "improving access to health care services for people who are uninsured, isolated, or medically vulnerable."
The major focus areas for 2012 are:
*Improving the primary care workforce supply; *Developing team-based care models through interdisciplinary training; *Increasing workforce diversity; *Ehancing geriatric care training, both professional and para-professional; and *Continuing development of the National Center for Health Care Workforce Analysis.
BHPr will be placing emphasis on primary care training for doctors, physician assistants, nurses and dentists. However, they do realize the value of other health care workers and are funding an Institute of Medicine study on allied health workers.

HPNEC will hold a briefing in the Rayburn Office Building in DC to educate the new members of Congress about the types of programs funded by Title VII and VIII. There will be a debut of a new video which will then be available on UTube – look for it under HPNEC1. The new HPNEC brochure will be distributed at the briefing. NN2 will receive 10 copies of the brochure as part of its membership in this organization.
